I am Lazarus A Goat Story
Written by Heather Gordon and Illustrated by Marko Rop
I was excited to read this book after finding out it was written by Heather Gordon as I loved her hilarious book – ‘Does the Queen fart?’.
This is an original, funny and sweet story about a goat who tries to save his piglet friends. He finds that he might be in some kind of trouble with the farmer but clearly he understands the true meaning of friendship and loyalty and saves the day!
The story has a lovely moral about friendship which is something children can relate to.
The illustrations in the book are beautiful, the illustrator has clearly taken time to include details into all the illustrations. There was lot’s to find, discuss and point out as I shared this story with my children and then my class.
As a teachers perspective its something that can be shared as part of a PSHE lesson. Should the goat help his friends? Or should the goat remain loyal to its friends?
From an Early Years perspective this book can be used as part of an animals or farm theme which I did myself.
We even created our own farm shop role play area, visited a real farm and made some amazing arts and crafts.

I rate this amazing book 4/5 lilies! – A must read!
